Google Checkout Giving Away T-Shirts

TDavid writes that, for today only, any purchase of $20 or more on Google Checkout will get you a free Checkout t-shirt. Take a look at the offer page, which says that any $20 purchase using Google’s Checkout system, including at many well known online stores (like Buy.com, uBid or the StarbucksStore) before 11:59 Pacific (2:59 am Eastern) will net a large size Google Checkout shirt. Shame that the shirt only comes in large, or I might be more innarested, since a svelte fella like me doesn’t need to throw on some oversize shirt.

By the by, T bought a backpack, or rather, his wife did. He was also surprised that one of the businesses was charging $12.97 for shipping. There is rarely an excuse for high charges like that, and sometimes it means the store is trying to show lower prices and make it up on shipping. If someone actually can’t ship for less than that awful sum, maybe Google can find a way to help merchants our, some sort of system-wide shipping service that saves money by leveraging the large number of shipments throughout the Checkout network.
