Google Wins Some Webby Awards
Google has earned itself a couple of Webby Awards. The envelope, please:
- Best Navigation / Structure - People’s Voice winner
- Best Practices - Webby Award winner and People’s Voice winner
Categories Yahoo (or Yahoo companies) won or got nominated in:
- Automotive - nominee (Yahoo Autos)
- Best Copy / Writing - nominee (Yahoo Television Without Pity)
- Blog - nominee (Flickr)
- Employment - People’s Voice winner (Yahoo HotJobs)
It’s worth noting that neither scored nominations in the social networking, services or news categories. Some of that is easily excusable, others, dissapointing.
UPDATE: AOL’s Jaymelina Esmele reminds me that their Singingfish.com audio and video search engine won both the Webby and People’s Voice award for Best Services.
