Today’s quest is a Geography Challenge. It is a puzzle, so there’s little help you can get with that, except that, as with any puzzle, start with the corners. Also, mind the copyright text. Since the pieces snap into place, if it is an edge piece, just keep dropping it until it sticks.
As for the final question, it is a scrambled word. Good luck with that one. I guessed, and got it right on the first try. If you’ve read Brown’s books, just pick a city and go with your instincts.
As for the item you have to find: Holy crap was that hard! I found it on my second Google Maps search (you’re looking for a building, you have the name and the city: It’s not so difficult), but the game insisted I click on the building itself, not the location of the placemark, so I spent a good chunk of time confused. Once you’ve found it on Maps, it’s one of the building next to the pushpin; you just need to click on the right one.

Google has for a short while being showing Google Scholar as one of their tabs if they detect your IP address as coming from a college of some sort. According to Anthony, they’re taking it to the next level, trying to recruit graduates right from the Google front page:

As you can see, it says “Graduating? Come work with us.“. I wonder where the link points to, if there’s a special landing page. Still, its a pretty good idea.

AOL property Weblogs Inc. has launched a subsidiary blog network, Blogging Stocks, that covers, you guessed it, medieval shackling devices.
not really an UPDATE: Holy crap! How’d I get that one wrong?!
But, seriously, they’ve got blogs on several of my favorite companies, including Google, Microsoft and Yahoo. The writing is mostly good, with a good number of posts every day, there’s the odd writer or editing job that is atrocious. Still, I’m not going to knock anyone that just started, and I wish them the best of luck.
My main point? If you’re a Google-watcher, you’ve got one more blog to consider for the blogroll. I’m subscribing to the Google and Microsoft blogs, for now, and we’ll see if I should have taken less or more.
Bloglines tells me I’m their first-ever subscriber. I feel special.

Got this release in my inbox, letting me know that my favorite game, Baseball Mogul, has had some pretty great sales marks. It may not sound like much in an age where Halo 2 makes more money than any movie, but for this independentally produced game, sold mostly online, to sell 1,000 copies in less than a month, that’s a big deal.
And yes, I know baseball games have nothing to do with this blog, but this is a game that I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of for years, one that takes a ton of effort for the very few people working on it. We all know people working at startups that struggle to get by, and if I can’t help these guys out a little, then what’s the point of having such a large audience?
Anyway, if you haven’t tried it out yet, download the newly available free demo and read my review. If you like baseball, I don’t understand how you could not at least give it a try, and then, not buy it. It rocks, trust me.
Release after the jump.
