Voices.com Offering Talent For Google Audio Ads
Already, there is a company looking to take advantage of Google’s developing audio/radio advertising platform, offering up voiceover talent for companies new to audio ads. Voices.com, a company that connects companies with voiceover talent and voice actors, is promoting itself as a good solution for Google Audio Ads customers, most of whom will have never produced a radio commercial before. Voices has 8,000 voice talents and over 50,000 international clients, so it has the experience to handle all the new Google customers.
The only real question is if their prices are appropriate for the long tail audio ads Google is shooting for. Google Audio Ads advertisers have much tinier ad budgets than the companies Voices might be used to dealing with. Maybe there’s a way to commission voice talent on a PPC-type basis?

MarketWatch says Google’s radio ad program has hit a snag, seeing as Google doesn’t have enough inventory to make advertisers interested. Google is reportedly deep in negotiations with CBS to buy a ton of airtime, but without it, they can’t effectively test the system, and won’t be able to perfect the platform until they have the inventory to run it on.
Meanwhile, Scoble says that Beet.tv is running post-roll ads (the kind that appear at the end of a clip) on their video blogs, as part of a Google Video advertising program. Should be the start of AdSense Video, which I’m sure a lot of vloggers have been eagerly anticipating.
Also, WebProNews’ Doug Caverly reports that The New Haven Register is entering a print ad program with Google. Fifty other newspapers are reportedly in the program. I’m surprised Google is trying this again, considering the last print ad program they tried was such a huge disaster.
