InsideGoogle Video Blog: May 30, 2007

Here we go with the second video blog for InsideGoogle, this one centering around Google Map’s new StreetView.

I’ve tried something a little different with the camera angle, frankly I hate it, so tell me what you think I should be doing with regards to that.

  2. You made me laugh so hard at the name thing! It doesn’t get more interactive than this, very cool! I also thought the video was done much more natural. Absolutely great!

    - The green border around your browser is real, according to GoogleOS.
    - Mary Jo Foley highlights some very interesting developments. I’m really surprised by the T-shirt ban. Perhaps it’s just to prevent confusion? Still, it’s a bit odd. Same for the “please don’t attend” e-mail.
    - James O’Neill raises a good point not to trust Google as your primary storage solution: http://blogs.technet.com/jamesone/archive/2007/05/06/if-your-data-is-in-the-cloud-where-s-your-privacy.aspx
That’s why I’d like all Google services to allow me to download their database (such as my Search History, and my Gmail spam folder).

(Nathan, should I still expect an e-mail from you, or did you figure “it” out, whatever “it” is?)

Oh, and I thought the video was approximately the right length, too. =)

  5. Yeah, don’t worry about the email, Tim, I figured it out. And thanks for the good words, I appreciate it.
