Tay Zonday On The Opie & Anthony Show
Listened to today’s Opie & Anthony show on XM Satellite Radio (and various CBS stations nationwide) and right near the end of the broadcast, rising YouTube star Tay Zonday of Chocolate Rain called in. Naturally, I just had to post it:
A little insight into the mind of the Chocolate Rain man.

This is gold. Chocolate Rain & Tay Zonday have changed my life. Weird Biz is now a Tay Zonday tribute site.

That guy is totally unfunny, so what he has a deep voice, people are into such stupid things it’s sad, shows us how dumb our society is.

Does he not sound a little like homer simpson?

I am in accord with what this gentleman emotes. I guess it is easy to say that he is rascist as what he says is a cry out against the injustice of his people. Read people and you will find out this world (take Iraq and Afganistan, and many other places) are being raided by high tech barbarians. 2/3 of Africa will be desert in 20 years. Sound fair?

Yeah man! “people are into such stupid things it’s sad” Yeah we forgot how superior you were to society. Your awsome anon

This is just something people like, if you want to insult people’s interests, keep it to yourself. People like this for the same reason napoleon dynamite was so popular, it was dumb, funny, cheesy and awesome! Same with this video.

Tay, doesn’t seem so much racist as racially aware. Many think that because the Civil Rights Movement is a part of days gone by, history, that everything is well and good for blacks around the world. The more things change the more they stay the same. When someone calls attention to the truth others fail to see they are often labeled as racist or even worse a crybaby or trouble maker. He is such an unlikely overnight sensation as well as a surprisingly unexpected voice of protest.

You are IGNORANT if you think this song is racist. This is about interracimsm, racism, classism, segregation, slavery, etc. He is telling black people to wake up. He is telling the world that it is not just here. It’s a wake up call. Believe it or not, it’s not about bashing white people. No. It’s about being racially aware. It’s about that you think you have come far but you have hardly reached the goal. People have been staggering. This deeper than what a lot of people are able to really take from it.

This is deeper than what alot of people are able to take from it(Which in itself is sad). BTW, I agree with you whole heartedly Zee. I have to say this was the most thought provoking song that I have heard in a long time. He’s racist because he is pointing out the truth. Nothing has changed! Racism is still well and alive. Money talks and the world goes on.

forget softening my statement with a “no offense” or other such qualifier beforehand because i mean this exactly as it is: anyone who equates racial commentary with racism is painfully stupid and it saddens me that they too are allowed to have opinions.

Tay is a man of color singing a song that speaks of de jure and de facto racism and classism. How does that make him a racist?

A far better showcase song for his talent is ‘Internet Dream” at the following YouTube link:
