New Version Of Google Desktop Search

Looks like there’s a new version of Google Desktop Search out, and it is no longer in beta. The new version appears to be able to index email from Netscape Mail / Thunderbird, web pages viewed with Netscape / Firefox / Mozilla, PDF files, music (MP3, WMA, WAV), images (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP), video (AVI, MPG, WMV). There are also new plugins supporting Trillian IM, intranet websites, help files, mIRC, and OpenOffice and StarOffice. There’s also something about a Deskbar. More info once I’ve got it running.

Already having articles about it:

  1. The new Desktop Search doesn’t seem to be integrated with the Deskbar anymore. I hope someone out there figures out how to fix that.
