Gmail Clips Roll Out Slowly

Well, its been 19 days since Google started rolling out Web Clips to some Gmail users, and many (myself included) are still waiting. Danny Sullivan just got it, and he’s got more information and screenshots. He reports that Web Clips comes with three feeds already subscribed to:

You can, of course, unsubscribe from them at any time. Google has a list of selected feeds in different categories, all of which were hand-picked (presumably based on popularity and wide appeal), like Slashdot, ABC News and NPR. In addition, you can subscribe to any or all of 5 Google News categories (world, business, entertainment, health and sports), although these are not RSS feeds. I know I’m not the only one who wants Google News in my RSS reader, but we’ll have to keep waiting.

Do you have Clips yet? Let everybody know what you think of them.

  1. Hi,..

i’ve got Webclips for about a month now. I’m originally from the Netherlands (so please excuse for any mistakes in my English writing!!) I think it’s another good function Google has made for Gmail-users, although it is not really working 100% yet. I was using Gmail in Dutch language, but i read that it was possible to chat with Gmail if you would set it to English language. So i did, and now i also got WebClips ;D .My Webclips came with several Feeds, like Danny Sullivan i had Yahoo, Reuters and Engadget, but i had even much more such as CNN, Foxnews, BBC, etc…
A friend of mine uses Gmail too,and switched to English Language too when i told him it would include Chat and Webclips. Strange thing is that he goot an extra button on his
“Webclips bar”, next to the 2 arrows (to check your feeds) he has got an button which says: ‘customize’.Why havent i got that!!???
Very strange, but probably because Google is still testing the product.

    Cheers

  2. […] Sommige gebruikers kunnen ook Gmail via RSS ontvangen (Gmail Clips, soms lukt het je via helppagina). Kijk anders bij GMailRSS. […]
