Wider Google Search Box?

Matt Mullenweg (creator of WordPress, the software that powers this blog) says he sees that Google has widened its search box. I’m not sure. What do you guys think?

UPDATE: Alex Barnett does some research and says “certainly“.

    Using the wayback machine (http://www.archive.org) I viewed the source of the current page and what they had at 2 or 3 points in the past. The box is 55 characters and has been in every snapshot I looked at of it in the past.
