AdSense Earnings Status

Mincus has created an AdSense notifier, displaying your earnings in your Firefox status bar. Useful, if you’re obsessive about earnings (or just OCD).

A word of advice, any time you release software, specify the platform it is for. I had to search the comments to find out this was for Firefox.

  1. How about implementing something like there here? Or at Apple Watch?

  2. Is this comment on the wrong post? Was this meant for the captcha post?

  3. Yes it was. Darn. I’ve been commenting on your blog so much lately that I am losing track of where I am.

And with regards to the AdSense extension, I wonder if it could cause an account to be suspended. Gmail has been locking out some people’s accounts for a bit because there is probably something wrong with their extensions that causes them to tax the Gmail servers more than what is necessary.

  4. Do you think captcha would be better, or requiring logins to comment? I won’t add it to my blog, since I think the WordPress moderation panel lets me catch all of them quickly, but I can certainly add it for yours.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if Google is not happy about this tool. Then again, they shouldn’t design such a piss-poor AdSense site that logs you out after 15 minutes.

  5. Thanks for the link Nathan!

Jason: Google has been very receptive to the extension actually. They asked me to make a few changes to how often it updates, but told me that they thought it was a wonderful useful extension.
