Charlene Li On New Yahoo Mail

Charlene Li posts about some of the impressive and powerful features in the closed beta of Yahoo’s mail service. It seems like, to show up Gmail, both Yahoo and MSN are building mail programs that are very similar to Hotmail Outlook.

  3. Oops. Actually, I meant Outlook. The beta versions of Yahoo Mail and Hotmail both try to be full-fledged email clients like Outlook, to move beyond Gmail.

  5. Is making the email clients look more like Outlook really moving ‘beyond’ Gmail? Gmail has changed the way we conceptualize email. They’re ‘conversations’ now…

  6. I think, fo rthe heavy email user, a full fledged client is far more important thatn conversational threading. Besides, a full-fledged client could implement conversational threading anyway. And who’s to say that isn’t planned for MSN or Yahoo?
