Image Search With Face Recognition
Steve Rubel discusses Riya, which does image search with facial recognition technology. Shame these guys’ll be staring down the Google beast eventually, since Google’s developing the same damn thing.

From what I hear, it isn’t EXACTLY the same thing…

Welcome, Tara. True, Google’s isn’t exactly the same, and I don’t know if Riya has funding, but Greg Linden says anybody in a field Google is even rumored to be getting into is getting the cold shoulder from VCs. Good luck!

Noah, I list two email addresses currently in the footer of this page (although I’ll probably move them to a different portion of the page in the future). You can always contact me by clicking on those, since they go straight to me. My experience with those tell me putting your own email address on a public page is just a bad idea, so I just rotate public contact emails every so often.
As for the Google Mail stuff, currently its an issue in England and Germany, and I’ve blogged both (technically, I think Coolz0r blogged one of them).

Nathan,
I couple of points here
a) Not true on the VC front. We have raised money recent and actually have a lot of interest from VCs for our next round.
b) Greg is not correct. it reminds me of the attitude people had toward MSFT back in the old days. If MSFT is doing it you can’t win. Actually most of the largest market cap companies we have today in the Internet space when up against the MSFT and won.
