Yahoo Music Doubles Cost

C|Net reports that Yahoo will be doubling the cost of its music subscription service in just over a week. Yahoo Music Unlimited will go from $5 a month to $10 on November 1, when paid annually, while month-by-month fees will increase from $7 to $12. Those not interested in offloading music to portable devices will still be able to pay the old fee just for listening to music on their computers, and you can still lock in the old rate for the next week.

I won’t be re-upping in eight months when my subscription runs out. $60: worth it. $120: not worth it. Simple math. Back to stealing music.

  1. When your subscription expires, do you still get to play the music you downloaded earlier or what?

  2. Stealing music needs more intelligence and time and annoyance and disappointment and…

WTF! Ok, we Chinese still have Baidu.com!

  3. When it expires, I lose my Yahoo Music. I still have my regular music library (and there are options for stripping the DRM from the Yahoo tracks). I used Yahoo for the Launchcast and instant streaming music catalog more than the expirable tracks anyway.
