Gossip Blog Has A Mad On For Google
There’s a new gossip blog in town from Gawker called Valleywag which focuses on Silicon Valley gossip, and it seems to have developed an unhealthy obsession with all things Google (just like myself). They’ve been posting a lot of Google stuff:
- ABC’s “embarrassingly unedited video” tour of Google, where Bob Woodruff fawns over random crap in Googler’s offices
- Saying Marissa Mayer got profiles of herself in magazines to get promoted to VP
- Larry and Sergey selling $1 billion in stock
- Sergey seemingly falling asleep on stage at some sort of event
- About Google’s ABC profile:
Larry drinks some water — WHILE SERGEY IS TALKING. Best. Ventriloquist. Ever. These guys should tour.
- A diagram of Google’s Evil Scale
- Implying Marissa Mayer has late night romps with random engineers
- How profiles of Marissa never mention that she dated Larry Page
- Sergey and Larry losing over a billion dollars overnight apiece earlier this week.
- A faux magazine cover of US Weekly with Larry and Marissa that reads, “Larry & Mari’s Secret Affair: Who’s Feeling Lucky Tonight?”
- An editorial on how everyone’s afraid to mention the Larry/Marissa thing in the media, and some reader backlash to Ms. Mayer
The blog seems a little obsessed with Marissa Mayer, even more so than it is Google-obsessed (and its VERY Google-obsessed). Still, it’s more funny than rude and insulting.
