Iraq Video Unplayable In The U.S.?

A Google Video that purports to be of the detonation of an Iraqi weapons cache is not allowed to be played in the United States. What gives? You can see it by embedding it in a webpage (as I’ve done below), but what reasoning is there for the “This video is not playable in your country.” message? Evil U.S. government conspiracy, weird bug, a decision of the uploader, or something else entirely?

  1. When a video is uploaded to googe, the owner can decide on the countries. I don’t know if that’s the case here

  3. If you are in the U.S. and can’t see the page, you can just use Tor[1]. Tor is a free open source program that lets you use the internet anonymously.

When using Tor Google can’t see where you come from.

This is good for people in other contries which are censored. China for instance.

[1]: Get Tor from here: http://tor.eff.org/.

  5. […] Fakt ist auf jeden Fall, das was in Deutschland bei “Google Video” zu sehen ist, amerikanische Nutzer in den USA vorenthalten wird. Kaum steht diese Tatsache fest, wird wild spekuliert.
