Google Health Expected Next Week
USA Today’s Kevin Maney says Marissa Mayer all but told him that we’ll see Google Health at next week’s annual Google Press Day. He asked her why Google doesn’t expand into verticals like health, and her response was:
Health is an interesting one — keep your eye out for that next week.
Now, that doesn’t mean the service will launch, but rather that journalists might be shown a sneak peak of Google Health. Shame that I can’t take advantage of my invite to the event, being on the wrong coast and all. Should I move to the West Coast after I get married?
Mayer also said that Google will start integrating video results into Google News search results. This way, if CNN has a video online about a news story, that gets in the index and the news results just like the text stories. Very smart. You’ll see video integrated in several Google areas.
