Google Sitemaps Renamed
Google Sitemaps is now “Webmaster Central”. Considering that Sitemaps has evolved from just being about, well, Sitemaps, into more of a catch-all interface for webmaster troubleshooting tools, the name change was a pretty good idea. Google Webmaster Central is now available at google.com/webmasters/, and the blog moves to the very long address of googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.
You know, Sitemaps seemed to get new features so often, I wish there was a good way to keep track of how many things you can do with it. A good start is this page, which lists:
- Crawl info
- Robots.txt file validation
- Website content
- Top queries
- Indexing information
- Submit a Sitemap file
- Specify your preferred domain
