Google Homepage: Now With Katie!

Google is hosting a new homepage module that lets you view videos from the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Well, yay.

If you can’t get enough Katie, Google is here to make your day! You’ll not the location of the Module XML file (http://www.google.com/ig/modules/cbs_evening_news.xml) means that Google is hosting it, probably as part of a deal with CBS, rather than just having a third-party gadget.

From TechWeb:

The content, which includes headlines, top stories, a calendar of events and Couric’s daily blog, is available through a module jointly developed by Google and CBS. Users have the option of adding the mini-application to their homepage.

As part of the deal, CBSNews.com and Google have agreed to promote the new feature on each other’s sites. Couric made her debut as CBS news anchor on Tuesday.
